Why It Matters
Museums serve as guardians of our collective memory. By exploring this site, you gain appreciation for how Texas and the American West developed—from the plains, through settlement, to modern times. The presence of placards, museum plaques, and a gallery of artifacts means you get context, not just objects. Each building tells a story; each marker gives you a link to the past.
